All the Single Ladies

How were your Thanksgivings?!

I had an incredible time over at Predo & Jimmy's.  And yet here I am asking myself the same question I ask myself every year around the holidays.

Why don't I eat stuffing ALL THE TIME?

Seriously?!  Why do we reserve this just for the holidays?  2009?  Poised to be the Year of Stuffing for SSG.  I think it's important to aim high on New Years resolutions.

Predo & Jimmy are amazing people, with a great group of friends.  As I was driving over yesterday afternoon I was thinking how fortunate I am that I get to sneak into their circle and sip copious amounts of lemon drops on the sidelines.  Usually I take my perch at the dining room table and chat with the boys while dinner is being made.  However, last night was different.  There was ANOTHER single lady in the house.  Instead of sizing each other up, we bonded instantly and took up residence on the couch.

We read princess stories.

And drew circles.

And triangles.

And a picture of her sippy cup.

And a picture of SSG's sippy cup.

And then we used our princess credit cards ...

... to buy lip gloss.
(You need lip gloss on to sing Beyonce's song "All the Single Ladies.")

"I got gloss on my lips, a man on my hips ..."

That's when my new found friend, looked at me and said "you draw princess."

So SSG did ...

And then my friend said "you draw prince."

Predo said the prince looked like a soup can with a head.  And that's when SSG said ...

This princess will take her triangle, her sippy cup, her new found friend's "Sleeping Beauty Horse" and her soup can and ride off into the hills to live happily ever after ...

The End

I was thinking about you guys yesterday. I am glad to hear you had a lovely day and it looks like you made a fun friend.

My hubs said the same thing about stuffing yesterday. He wants me to make it all the time. Easy brownie points for me since mine comes out of a box and you just add water and butter! :)

I think you have it all figured out! Your little friend went home last night fighting not to sleep. She kept talking about her new friend and wants you to come over and play with all her princesses - to do their hair!

I am so glad you were here! We are so grateful to have someone as special as you in our lives! Big Hugs and Lemon Drops Sunshine! We love you!

Predo's comment brought tears to my eyes:) Who is this new little princess???

So glad to hear your feast went well. However, with Wade in charge, I really wasn't concerned!!!

I just LOVE when we are able to write our own happy endings! And it sounds like yours was great! Good food, (plenty of stuffing), and friends and you even made a new friend. Can't get much better than that.

That is SO CUTE :) I love drawing with little kids...

Stuffing all the time is a good idea I think. I like it as a side to a lot of things....

For you it was stuffing - for me it was fresh cranberry sauce. I love that stuff but forget about it between Thanksgivings. Oh well, absence make the heart grow fonder, right?

Thankfully, I behaved during the Thanksgiving feasting. However, is it bad to confess that the only stuffing I know how to make is out of a box marked *****top?? *hangs head in shame and reliquishes chefy knives*

Sounds like you had a great time!!! And the sippy cup - you are on point with that chica!
