To Market To Market

After breakfast of fresh squeezed orange juice, croissants and homemade jam at Mas d'Etoiles, we headed out to visit the hill towns of the Luberon.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of this town (Mrs. Bob, can you hook an SSG up?) but I LOVED their market.

Artichokes are my all time favorite vegetable ...

This market was SUCH a feast for the senses.  The streets were crowded with people speaking French, German, Italian and English ...

The colors were stunning ...

And the smells transported you.  This table full of curries made my mouth water ...

And these berries made my sweet tooth ache ...

And the linens of Provence!  Reds and yellows, blues and greens.  They would have made my table at home very happy, but my luggage not so much.  My one regret of this trip was not buying a tablecloth to bring home ...

The olive oil in this region is very well known and they parlay it into everything, including soap.

Even the mailmen are cute--riding along delivering the post on their fun yellow vespas.

And speaking of cute yellow things, this one made me long for my little blonde girl at home.

Market day, it sure can wear you out!

I've been enjoying your posts of France, because it's next on my list, I think. I've done posts of my trip to Italy, but not as organized!

I want some berried from france and some soap with olive oil in it and a nice, crisp table cloth! Let's do back...all together...The SSG girls doing France and maybe a little bit of Italy too.

That would be SO much fun and we could have lots of cute "boyfriends" too.

Beautiful pictures. I miss the markets in Europe so much. Shame on you for not bringing home a tablecloth! :)

I must have some of that olive oil soap. Do they have a website?

Did the mailman wear shorts?? I'm a leg girl.

When are you, Marlene, Kim & I leaving?

Amazing - simply amazing.

You'll just have to fly back to get a tablecloth, SSG.

And I know that's what your plan is! I am onto you girl! Now you have an excuse to go back..."need a tablecloth!".
Sneaky!
I am glad you are having so much fun and it is always fun to read about!

I was looking for pictures of Provence and stumbled upon your blog. What lovely pictures you have there! It makes me want to get on a plane right away. For the tablecloths, don't despair, you can find those in the US as well. For example, check out www.colorsofprovence.com.

Hi there...Mrs. Bob here. Sorry for my absence but I am completely consumed with school right now. I'm SO missing Auntie B, Paris, Provence, Nice... all of it! We need to go back ASAP!

The name of this lovely little town is Lourmarin.

Check out Flickr for more pictures from the Bob's...search in "people" for "myriaddesign" and you'll see our photos. We're adding them every day.
