What is the Deal With ...

The SNOOZE button?

Anyone who has lived with me knows ... I LIKE the snooze button on my alarm clock.  I like it A LOT.  So much so that I am known for hitting the darn thing every 9 minutes over a period of hours sometimes.

This is NOT a good thing to be known for.

My sister used to get so irritated she'd come in and yank all the covers off me when I was in high school.

I've had a good run ... over a span of years ... where I'd wake up, hit the snooze button once and then jump out of bed.  I believe this happened right around the time I got a puppy and worried she'd use my bedroom floor as a bathroom.

But lately, it's back.  My love affair with the snooze.  Like this morning we did our dance for an HOUR and a HALF!

I advanced my clock forward in my bedroom by 15 minutes, I set my alarm for an hour before I really want to wake up.  All in an effort not to wake up late.  And guess what?  I've still been waking up late.

WHAT IS THE DEAL?

Is it because it's dark as heeeeeellll out there in the mornings at this time of year?  Colder?  Am I depressed?  What?  Is?  It?  Because it's driving me nuts!

How many times do you guys hit snooze?

Hi, my name is Kim and I am a snoozer! It's bad, real bad. And it got worse when I discovered that my clock had this wonderful unknown feature. Hit the button once- 8 min. Hit it really fast twice and it's an automatic 16 minutes and so on. Danger! Danger! I set my alarm a 1/2 hr before I need to get up so I can play this game. It's sad, very sad.

It is dark as hell in the morning. That doesn't help. And it's cold. And I am not exactly thrilled about the whole work thing.

I absolutely despise the snooze button because I can't sleep knowing that it's going to buzz in 10 minutes again. I lay awake, sometimes in a pool of sweat, waiting for it to go off. Every nerve in my body tenses, waiting for it.

It's not pleasant. easier to just get the hell up.

Instead of snooze I have back up plans: 4 alarms set in different places and further away then the next. The snooze I would just chuck across the room if needed.

This is funny though.

Hubby has always been in charge of the Snooze Button! It saves me the trouble:)

Dark + Cold = BHE can't drag her butt out from under the quilt!

I finally wake up 15 minutes after the alarm buzzer has quit sounding. So to answer your question, it's however many times 9 will go into 60 minutes, I guess, but I can't be sure because I'm really still sleeping!

I wake up before the alarm even goes off. I never get any sleep. I do however know what you mean. My morning is sluggish and irritable with the dark cold outside world. I do think I have an answer for you. If the Chip-n-Dales dancers woke you up at the right time everyday, you probably would learn to ignore the snooze!!!
